Construction on the new $US400 million United States embassy in Maraval has begun and embassy officials have advised that nearby residents may experience noise and traffic disruptions as a result in the coming months.
The embassy is being constructed on the site of what was the Trinidad Country Club located on Long Circular Road, Maraval.
"The embassy apologises to residents and motorists in the area for the inconvenience including noise and intermittent traffic disruptions in the next few months, because of the use of heavy equipment on site," a statement by the US embassy in Port-of-Spain said.
