CONSTRUCTION has officially commenced on the new United States Embassy compound in Maraval. The project, located at 137 Long Circular Road, marks a major US$400 million investment by the United States government in Trinidad and Tobago.
The announcement was made by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) and the US Embassy, which confirmed that the 11-acre site, acquired in 2023, will house the new state-of-the-art Embassy complex.
Construction activities are expected to bring temporary inconvenience to residents and commuters in the area over the coming months. The Embassy apologised for any disturbances caused by noise and intermittent traffic disruptions due to the movement of heavy equipment.
