THE Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) has announced that preliminary data indicates the United National Congress (UNC) has secured 26 seats in the April 28 general election.
The People’s National Movement (PNM) won 13 seats, while the Tobago People’s Party (TPP) won both seats in the sister isle. Recounts also began in three constituencies yesterday.
In a media release issued yesterday, the EBC provided data from Monday’s general election, which saw Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who lost two previous general elections, being returned to government as Prime Minister for the second time. Her first term was from 2010-2015.
