A SUSPECTED kidnapping in Caroni ended within minutes on Friday afternoon after police intercepted a vehicle, rescued a young Venezuelan woman and arrested two men following a chase on foot with officers.
Police said, shortly after 1 p.m., officers on mobile patrol received reports that a woman had been forced into a vehicle near the Rainbow Supermarket in Kelly Village. Acting on the information, officers moved into the area and identified a silver Nissan Tiida believed to be involved. The police said the vehicle was intercepted along the road, but as it came to a stop, the occupants exited and fled on foot, leaving the 20-year-old woman inside.
Officers chased the suspects as they ran towards Airport Boulevard and into nearby overgrown terrain.
