A 73-year-old woman abducted from her San Juan home on Wednesday night has been rescued by the Coast Guard, while seven men, said to be migrants, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Senior officers of the North Eastern Division confirmed that Tara Poliah was safely recovered following the abduction, which occurred around 7.30 p.m. at her Don Miguel Road residence.
She was found aboard a boat off Trinidad's north coast, according to Commissioner of Police Allister Gueverro, who said the crime triggered a multi-agency response.
