A late-night robbery on Thursday escalated into a kidnapping and gunfire exchange, ending in the fatal shooting of one suspect and the rescue of a Point Fortin woman.
At around 11p.m on Friday, a 29-year-old car dealer was driving along Hospital Road in Carlsen Field when he stopped to urinate. While outside his Hyundai H-100 truck, a black Nissan X-Trail with unknown registration pulled alongside him.
Two armed men exited the rear of the vehicle and announced a robbery. The suspects stole the truck, $1,500 in cash, a Samsung Galaxy A05 valued at $1,200, and an iPhone 16 worth $3,500. Also taken was Baptiste’s passenger, a 30-year-old woman, who was forced into the truck and abducted.
