THE absence of invited officials, including the Prime Minister's at African Emancipation Day events, is nothing new and has happened before.
So said executive chair of the Emancipation Support Committee of Trinidad and Tobago (ESCTT), Zakiya Uzoma-Wadada, after Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar did not attend the committee's African Emancipation Day event on Saturday at the Queen's Park Savannah in Port of Spain.
Uzoma-Wadada told the Express yesterday that the PM's absence at the weekend was not taken in a negative way.
