(Kaieteur News) – Three persons lost their lives in separate road accidents over the past week, while another motorcyclist remains hospitalised, as police continue investigations into fatal collisions in Georgetown and on the West Coast Demerara.
The latest tragedy occurred just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday at the junction of Camp and New Market streets, Georgetown, where 39-year-old Gladwin Dorway of Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, was killed in a three-vehicle collision.
Police said a 28-year-old woman of South Cummingsburg, who was driving motor car PNN 832, allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign on New Market Street before entering the Camp Street intersection. Her vehicle reportedly collided with one motorcycle before a second motorcycle, ridden by Dorway, slammed into the car.
