The Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (FIUTT) has issued an urgent public warning following reports that individuals are using fraudulent identification cards bearing the logos of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT), the FIUTT and the Financial Investigations Branch (FIB) of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
In a public notice, the FIUTT said the fake identification cards falsely identify holders as "Financial Analyst Supervisors" and representatives of the three agencies.
The authority stressed that the cards are fraudulent, unauthorised and invalid.
