The monetary value of suspicious transactions in the country in 2024 amounted to $8.9 billion.
This according to the 2024 Annual Report of the Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (FIUTT), which covers the period October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024. The report was laid in Parliament last week.
The $8.9 billion figure for 2024 is a jump from 2023 when the monetary value stood at $5.9 billion.
