THE University of the West Indies (The UWI), St Augustine, principal Rose-Marie Belle Antoine says there appeared to be a misunderstanding over the unopened multimillion- dollar UWI Debe facility following the law faculty's visit to the southern campus on Wednesday.

Antoine added that the university had no conflict with the Government.

She was responding yesterday to comments from Minister of Tertiary Education Dr Prakash Persad, who on Wednesday said he was shocked and concerned about the tour and the announcement of repairs. He further referred to the principal as being 'out of place'.
