In a move to safeguard their youth development pathway, the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) has partnered with MD Pronto to roll out the National Under-17 Cup, featuring the top 56 cricketers in the age-group.
The tournament is being boosted by a $100,000 sponsorship by the medical software company and bowls off tomorrow.
The tournament was officially unveiled during a TTCB press conference last week at the TTCB headquarters at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva, with TTCB president Azim Bassarath describing the initiative as a, “statement of intent” amid the absence of the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Under-17 Championship this year.
