A 51-year-old man was killed in a tragic vehicular accident in El Socorro late Sunday night.
The deceased, Adrian Lessey of St James, was found dead near the westbound lane of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway, close to the El Socorro walkover. Police officers from the Barataria station responded around 11:25 p.m. and discovered a gold Nissan Almera overturned in a drain just south of the highway.
Lessey’s body was located a short distance away in a bushy area, bearing catastrophic injuries to the midsection. Investigators said it appeared he had been “split in half” by the impact.
