‘A treasure’, ‘an exemplary employee’, and ‘dependable’.
Those were some of the words used to describe accident victim Bhola Randy Siew by his boss Dr Shamin Renwick during an interview yesterday at the Alma Jordan Library at The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus. She said colleagues were struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of a man they say was not only a dedicated professional but also the “life of the library”.
Siew, 41, died following a road traffic accident on Sunday night where it is suspected he had a heart attack around 8.15 p.m. and his car impacted another in the vicinity of Caroni. His elderly parents were in the car with him at the time. The accident took place hours after Siew had completed a full day of duties at the university.
