When the car Kalisa Danclair was driving plunged into the South Oropouche River in Debe on Monday night, residents in the area rushed to help.
The car quickly submerged under the murky water and all that could be seen were the beams from the headlights.
The residents however entered the water and tried opening the doors and breaking windows. They even got a rope and tied one end around the car and the other end to a wrecker in an attempt to pull Danclair’s silver Toyota Axio out of the water. All of their attempts were futile.
