(Kaieteur News) – A man has confessed to murdering his wife after her body was discovered floating in a canal on the West Coast Demerara, police have confirmed.
The suspect, Hemat Kumar Mohamed, admitted to killing his 46-year-old wife, Shavannie Hanoman, according to Crime Chief and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Wendell Blanhum who spoke with Kaieteur News on Friday.
Concern grew for Hanoman after she failed to return home on Wednesday. Relatives reported her missing, triggering a search that ended in heartbreak the following day when her body was found floating in a trench at De Groot-En-Kleine, Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara.
