Prison officer denies ‘sex slave’ claims

A female prison officer has categorically denied allegations that she sexually harassed or abused former prisoner Nadia Pooran.

The officer insisted that prison procedures would have made some of the alleged encounters impossible.

Prisons officer I Katyann Grant, who had served in the Prison Service for 17 years at the time, rejected the allegations in a sworn affidavit filed in the High Court on December 14, 2022, on behalf of the Attorney General.
