Residents of Castara, Tobago, staged a fiery protest yesterday morning as they blocked roads, set fire to debris, and called for a regular water supply, claiming that for over a month some residents have not been receiving water in their taps.
One resident, Renrick Jackson, said if the irregular water supply continues, expect more protest action. “We tired and we frustrated about this. We decided to demonstrate and if we don’t get this resolved in the quickest possible time, it will start again,” Jackson said.
The residents said, for weeks, they have been struggling without a consistent water supply, relying on stored water and alternative sources to get through daily life.
