After the government announced that US military aircraft have been granted permission to use local airports in the coming days, Venezuelan Justice Minister Diosdado Cabello last night issued a warning directly to Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Cabello, who has previously criticized Persad-Bissessar for her support of the US’ increased military presence in the Caribbean, appeared to address the Prime Minister directly during his weekly television programme, stating that if Venezuela was attacked, “you know what is going to happen.”
While reading a news headline on the announcement made by the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs earlier this week, Cabello said, ”Ma’am, try to be sober when you hear this, look at me carefully, try to be sober when you hear it. If something happens to us here in Venezuela, you know what is going to happen.”
