Two 30-year-old men were robbed and assaulted during a suspected gold transaction in Laventille on Tuesday night.

Police said that around 8.30 pm one man picked up the other at his home to complete a previously arranged gold sale.

While the two men were parked along Espinet Road, Laventille, near the community centre, three men approached the vehicle.
