Police are investigating the disappearance of a vehicle after a man claiming to be a police officer allegedly took possession of it while assisting an assault victim in Arima.
According to police reports, a 44-year-old woman from Enterprise, Chaguanas, received a telephone call from her husband at about 3 a.m. on June 6 informing her that he had been assaulted at Joseph Street, Arima.
The man reportedly told her that an individual who identified himself as a police officer approached him following the incident and enquired whether he had transportation to get to hospital for treatment. Believing the offer of assistance to be genuine, the assault victim handed over the keys to a red Nissan Almera belonging to his wife.
