A FREEPORT woman whose home was broken into and burnt to the ground six years ago has brought a constitutional claim against the Office of the Attorney General over what she said was the inaction of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) in the investigation of her matter.
Even though a few months after the incident, officers arrested three men in connection with a separate robbery, during which one of them confessed to robbing and torching the woman's home, he was never charged with the offence.
This was in spite of some of the stolen items that were in his possession also being recovered.
