More than half a million dollars in damages have been awarded to two women after a High Court judge ruled that a search warrant used in a pre-dawn police raid on their home was maliciously obtained.
Justice Avason Quinlan-Williams delivered the oral ruling on Monday, upholding the claim against the Office of the Attorney General arising from a July 20, 2023 operation by officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
The women had sued for malicious procurement of a search warrant, assault and trespass.
