AFTER a five-year struggle for answers following the robbery and burning of his home, a Freeport man has been granted permission by the High Court to pursue a judicial review claim against the Commissioner of Police.
Justice Frank Seepersad yesterday granted leave to Kamal Seunarine to challenge the Police Service’s refusal to disclose investigative reports and witness statements related to the 2019 incident, information which he had sought under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Seunarine’s application targeted a decision made by the Commissioner on April 22 this year, which denied full access to documents from the investigation into the destruction of his home at Bachu Trace, Freeport.
