The Women’s Committee of the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) on Thursday hosted a health fair at the Fire Service Headquarters, Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown, aimed at promoting the health and well-being of firefighters.
The initiative was spearheaded by Chairwoman of the Women’s Committee, Sub-Officer Franka Thomas, who emphasised the importance of ensuring that firefighters remain healthy and fit to effectively carry out their duties.
“The health of our ranks is paramount, since health is our first line of defence. This initiative is our way of ensuring that our firefighters are protected and cared for so that they can continue to effectively serve our nation,” Thomas said.
