Venezuelan Minister of Justice Diosdado Cabello has advised Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to refrain from 'meddling' in Venezuelan affairs, adding that it reserves the right to take ‘necessary action’ amid planned deportations, and escalating US tensions in the region.
He said that many Trinidadians currently live in Venezuela, and visit the country daily for trade, but are not mistreated by the Venezuelan government.
And although foreign affairs Minister Sean Sobers last week insisted that diplomatic relations between the two countries remain, Cabello yesterday accused the country of ‘threatening’ and ‘attacking’ Venezuela, and then “pretending” to maintain good relations.
