ACTIVIST Jason Jones said he will not be giving up his fight for equality of treatment for members of the LGBTQ+ community in Trinidad and Tobago.
Now that the Appeal Court in Port of Spain has found that the acts of buggery and serious indecency are unlawful, Jones in a statement on Tuesday night said he will now be taking his fight to the Privy Council in London, England.
He said it was with “the greatest distress” he received the news on Tuesday evening that the court, in a majority judgment, overturned a previous High Court ruling in which it was found that sections 13 and 16 of the Sexual Offences Act were unconstitutional.
