Eight suspects were held and two firearms and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers during various anti-crime exercises conducted Wednesday.
According to a police media release, in the Port of Spain Division, officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, conducted an exercise around 4.30 p.m. during which they proceeded to the Belmont district. There, they conducted a search at Belmont Valley Road where they found one revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition.
Four suspects, ages 18 to 36, all of the area, were arrested in connection with the find. The exercise was directed by ACP Collis Hazel and coordinated by Snr Supt Spence, Supt Ramsook and ASP Singh.
