Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander says the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) was strengthening traffic enforcement to treat with the continuing problem of serious and fatal road traffic accidents.
He made the comment in the Senate yesterday while responding to a question from Opposition Senator Melanie Roberts-Radgman who had asked what was being done to actively enforce speed limits and other road safety regulations across the country.
Alexander said the TTPS was strengthening traffic enforcement through targeted operations focusing on speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, seatbelt violations and other breaches of road traffic laws.
