Home invasion victims and family members gathered at Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s Penal constituency office on Tuesday to share first-hand the pain and trauma they endured at the hands of criminals.
Persad-Bissessar, who is also the Member of Parliament for Siparia, hosted a consultation on the proposed stand-your-ground legislation.
She sat in silence, listening intently as individuals, some of whom requested anonymity, bared their grief and expressed frustration over the lack of justice.
