Barataria police are investigating an office break-in at Mode Alive Trading Company Limited Head Office over the weekend, where thieves made off with $315,469 in cash.
According to police reports, the office was secured by staff on the afternoon of October 4, with all doors and windows locked and the alarm system activated. When staff returned on Monday morning, they discovered that a window on the side of the building had been pried open and a fireproof cabinet had been broken into.
Investigators noted that the main electricity breaker located in the yard had been turned off, effectively bypassing the CCTV cameras and alarm system. Entry and exit were made through the same window.
