The police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man whose body was recovered from the Paria Bay Waterfall in Blanchisseuse yesterday.
The nude and bloated corpse was first sighted on Sunday, but due to the fading light, police were unable to commence recovery efforts until yesterday morning. A large search party, comprised of police officers from the Blanchisseuse Police Station; the T&T Coast Guard; and fire officers from the Santa Cruz Fire Station Search and Rescue Team, set off around 9 am, and returned around 5 pm with the decomposing body in tow.
Guardian Media was told the body of the victim, who had a rasta hairstyle, bore what appeared to be chop wounds to the neck.
