THE Opposition People’s National Movement (PNM) says Housing Minister David Lee has to “resign” or take responsibility for the “chaos” unfolding on his watch and at the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). In a statement yesterday, former housing minister Camille Robinson-Regis criticised Lee for his latest response to a Sunday Express investigative story by Mark Bassant that a man claiming to represent an HDC official offered “compensation” in exchange for the article being dropped.
On Sunday, Lee was contacted for comment and he stated: “I have no idea or information about what is reported in the articles. I, as minister, don’t get involved in the running of HDC or any State agency under my purview. Also, I don’t get involved in any procurement process!”
Robinson-Regis stated yesterday that Lee’s latest response “raises a serious and troubling question for the people of Trinidad and Tobago—when will the minister ever know what is happening in his ministry?”
