AFTER more than a month in prison, 69-year-old Star Sabga is now under house arrest after being released late Monday night when the State failed to secure an extension of a six-hour stay granted following a High Court ruling ordering her release.
Sabga walked out of prison shortly after 11.30 p.m. after the stay, which expired at 11.20 p.m., was not extended by the Court of Appeal despite efforts by State attorneys to pursue an urgent appeal against Justice Vigel Paul's ruling.
She was then escorted by police officers to her Regents Park, Westmoorings, home, where she was placed under house arrest in accordance with the conditions imposed by the court.
