STAR Sabga’s bid to secure her release from prison returns to the High Court today, as the legal challenge over her continued detention unfolds amid growing controversy surrounding the public leak of a purported confidential audio recording allegedly forming part of the intelligence relied upon by the State.
The matter has been listed for 2 p.m. after Justice Paul deferred a decision last Friday on Sabga’s attorneys’ application to extend to her the Court of Appeal’s directions in a case brought by Dominic and Genevieve Hadeed.
Senior Counsel Douglas Mendes argued that although Sabga was not among the appellants before the Court of Appeal, the order directing an expedited hearing should also apply to her.
