Businesswoman Star Sabga has been released from the Women’s Prison at Golden Grove and placed under house arrest, after spending just over a month in detention.
Her release came late Monday night after a six-hour stay requested by the State expired, allowing a High Court order granting her conditional release to take effect.
Sabga was detained under a Preventive Detention Order issued during the State of Emergency in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and other senior Government officials.
