THERE is no longer any need for the constitutional claims brought by businessman Dominic Hadeed, his wife Genevieve and her aunt, Star Sabga, challenging their detention under preventive detention orders (PDOs) to be heard on an expedited basis now that all three have been released from prison.
The position was agreed by attorneys representing the claimants and the State when the matters came before Justice Vigel Paul yesterday.
Senior Counsel Rishi Dass, appearing for the claimants, told the judge the urgency which had prompted applications for expedited hearings had now been “lessened” following Sabga’s release from prison on Monday night.
