Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo says he did not issue any instruction for teachers to receive wage increases from January 2026.
Asked yesterday during a telephone interview about concerns raised by Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) president Crystal Ashe that teachers will not receive increased wages as promised at month end, Tancoo said: “I have made it very clear to the media as to when these salaries et cetera would take effect.”
He said he was unable to discuss the matter further as he was in the middle of a meeting.
