The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) is calling on Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo to honour the April 2025 bargaining agreement and ensure teachers receive their increased salaries.
Its president, Crystal Ashe, said via WhatsApp yesterday that the association was disappointed by Tancoo’s failure to approve the increase at the end of January 2026.
Ashe said he met with Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Dr Daryl Dindial on Wednesday, where the signed agreement and a promise made to TTUTA since April 2025 that the new salaries would be paid in July 2025—which did not materialise—were discussed.
