Juvenile rider surrenders after killing 10-yr-old girl

(Kaieteur News) – The juvenile who allegedly struck and killed 10-year-old Ketley Primary School pupil Gabriela Rodrigues on Saturday has surrendered to the police.

Kaieteur News understands that the teenager turned himself in at the Ruimveldt Police Station this morning accompanied by his mother and his legal counsel.

Though Commander McBean was unable up, to press time, to identify the owner of the motorbike, sources close to the investigation have confirmed with Kaieteur News that the juvenile’s father, a member of the police force, took ownership of the motorcycle involved in the fatal accident. Kaieteur News was also told that he had sent his son to purchase a fan with strict instructions to return directly home, emphasising that he had not authorised the youth to ride in that direction in the Independence Boulevard.
