With Independence Day celebrations just around the corner, Media Ambassador for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Sgt Devonn Jagroop, is encouraging the public to be mindful when using fireworks.

He shared key information on the regulations surrounding fireworks as well as important safety tips aimed at preventing accidents and protecting communities during the festive season.

“A permit is required from the Commissioner of Police if persons desire to discharge fireworks. However there is an exception, if there is fireworks during a public holiday celebrations there is a public holiday window. So please be mindful of that. Also scratch bombs, scratch bombs are completely and totally banned.”
