THE Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has confirmed that no one has been charged in connection with the use of fireworks during the New Year period, despite widespread public concern over noise and alleged breaches of the law.
Speaking with the Express yesterday, senior Police Service officials noted that even though the police had been out in full force on Old Year’s Night as well as the morning of New Year’s Day (January 1), no one had been detained or arrested.
However, they said they had cause to speak and caution several persons.
