Police are investigating the theft of $60,000 from a pickup truck parked at Starlite Shopping Plaza, Diego Martin, on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 5:20 p.m. a 29-year-old Diego Martin man reported to the Four Roads Police that he had earlier withdrawn $91,800 from Republic Bank at Ellerslie Plaza, Maraval, before making several stops to deposit portions of the cash and to refuel his vehicle.
He told officers that he later went to the Scotiabank ATM at Starlite Plaza to pay his credit card bill. When he returned, he found the front left window smashed and a brown envelope containing $60,000 missing. He said he gave no one permission to take the cash.
