LAVENTILLE West MP Kareem Marcelle faced objections from the Government when, in addressing the issue of legal fees, he referred to the $24.5 million paid to Speaker Jagdeo Singh between 2010 and 2015 under the United National Congress (UNC) government.
Speaking during the Supplementary Appropriation Bill, Marcelle accused the UNC of hypocrisy as he detailed some of the legal fees paid between 2010 and 2015 to attorneys who were now part of the UNC administration.
He also spoke of the fees paid to King’s Counsel Vincent Nelson—$39 million.
