Former chairman of the Children’s Authority Hanif Benjamin was placed on $170,000 bail when he appeared before a High Court Master, yesterday.
Benjamin, 47 a trauma specialist, faced two sexual-related offences when he appeared before Master Delicia Bethelmy at the San Fernando Court.
The charges of sexual communication and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, a 15-year-old, were laid on Wednesday under the Children’s Act by Cpl Cassie of the Child Protection Unit (CPU). Benjamin was detained the previous day and interviewed by police.
