Former Children’s Authority chairman Hanif Benjamin has been slapped with two sexual-related offences under the Children’s Act following an alleged incident earlier this month with a 15-year-old boy.
Benjamin, 47, a trauma specialist, was interviewed on Tuesday and was positively identified by the boy following an ID parade yesterday conducted by officers of the Special Victims Department of the Child Protection Unit (CPU) of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
He is charged with sexual communication and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under Section 23 and 25 A(1) of the Children’s Act.
