Po­lice ar­rest­ed a se­nior prison of­fi­cial last night af­ter a Pre­ven­tive De­ten­tion Or­der (PDO) was is­sued for him.

The act­ing Su­per­in­ten­dent of Pris­ons, who has over 20 years of ser­vice, was un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion as part of the on­go­ing probe in­to the smug­gling ring at the Max­i­mum Se­cu­ri­ty Prison.

He was last at­tached to the Car­rera Is­land Prison, where he had been trans­ferred one week af­ter for­mer act­ing Pris­ons Com­mis­sion­er Car­los Cor­raspe was sent on va­ca­tion leave.
