(Kaieteur News) – Residents of Linden need clarity on the reliability of the grid they will be connected to, as well as assurance that electricity costs will not rise after integration, Mayor Domonique Blair said Thursday in an invited comment.
Blair told Kaieteur News of the impacts of connecting Linden to the national grid could have on the already struggling mining community.
Responding via WhatsApp, Mayor Blair said that while he is aware of plans to connect Linden to the national grid, he has not yet had the opportunity to review the Development and Expansion Plan, and would therefore prefer not to speculate on specific impacts at this stage.
