The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has issued a yellow level alert from 6 p.m. on Saturday 17 May to 6 p.m. on Sunday 18 May, warning of unsettled weather conditions this weekend.
South-easterly winds are expected to pull in equatorial moisture, increasing atmospheric instability and creating a medium chance of heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms. At the same time, moderate winds and high levels of Saharan dust will linger, limiting widespread rainfall at times.
The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) remains well south of the country but is expected to shift over Trinidad and Tobago by early next week.
