JusÂtice RonÂnie BoodoosÂingh has been sworn in as Chief JusÂtice afÂter he reÂceived his inÂstruÂment of apÂpointÂment this afÂterÂnoon from ActÂing PresÂiÂdent Wade Mark at PresÂiÂdentâs House in the presÂence of sevÂerÂal digÂniÂtaries, inÂcludÂing outÂgoÂing Chief JusÂtice Ivor Archie and AtÂtorÂney GenÂerÂal John JeÂreÂmie.
MoÂments afÂter takÂing the oath of ofÂfice JusÂtice BoodoosÂingh promised to âperÂform the funcÂtions of the Chief JusÂtice to the best of my abilÂiÂtyâ and to build on the founÂdaÂtion laid by his preÂdeÂcesÂsors.
âI unÂderÂstand the gravÂiÂty and imÂporÂtance of this ofÂfice and the trust in which I have enÂtered with the peoÂple of Trinidad and ToÂbaÂgo,â he said, adding that he would âtry to walk humblyâ while leadÂing the JuÂdiÂciaÂry.
